The Triple Ds.

A group of us sat around a table one day and came up with:

  • name ........ Triple Ds ...
  • colour  -  teal/black , and
  • own team song (sung only on tour).

The Ds stand for anything that starts with 'D' .... or .... what represented our performances.  eg.

  • Desperate,
  • Drunk and
  • Dateless.

So the Ds were up and running and it was great to have all these players enjoying a new era of baseball.

In 1999, we decided to send a team to the Australia Masters in Adelaide, which was awesome.   We won GOLD that year, in the 35B Division and showed how passionate and competitive our guys are and that they can still play great ball.

There is nothing better than a group going away playing ball everyday and doing well.

In 2001 we went to Newcastle and the guys were fantastic defending our gold medal, they produced the goods and won GOLD again. Once again, .....we were damn good!

Since then we've been to every Australian Masters.  The playing group is growing and getting older (and slower) but not their desire.

During this time we have also entered teams in the VBA Summer Competition  - Monday night - with success.

Our list is expanding and we now have people coming from all over the country to play or be with us when we go on tour.   A testament to the way we go about our game.

Our wish is for the Triple Ds  to be in it for the long haul and thanks to the players, their passion and the love of the game, we've now been playing for over 10 years.

With the youth - or young pups as we call them - coming through it will continue for years to come, because once you have teal in the blood you are teal for life.
